Sport and exercise are vital for people of all ages, and at Heartlands Academy we strive to embed this mentality into not only our Physical Education lessons but into our extra-curricular programme also.

We feel that our extra-curricular provision is a vital aspect of what we do at Heartlands Academy. It is the extra opportunity for students to enhance and develop their skills; to further develop their social interaction and ability to work individually or as part of a team both of which are vital life skills.

All students are actively encouraged to take part in our extra-curricular programme at their own level in order to further develop their lifelong love and participation in sport.

Throughout the academic year, students can access a wide variety of activities and sports both before and after school hours. We strive to offer a variety of sports at different times of the year, including football, rugby, netball, hockey, badminton, fitness and health, dance, tennis, cricket, rounders, and athletics.

Additionally, there are always opportunities to represent our academy in local leagues and tournaments in a variety of Sports; and access to experience specialist coaching in numerous sports through our links with various community sports clubs, such as Bikeability, City of Birmingham Basketball Club and Aston Villa Community Football.

Whatever your level of interest, ability or passion we strive to provide the very best level of sporting and exercise experience possible.
